What is an apprenticeship?
A real job with hands-on experience and a salary – alongside industry standard training and a qualification. An apprenticeship is for people of all ages 16+, to help kick-start a career in a job that suits their skills and interests, to facilitate a career change or for people who would like to progress in their current role. Apprenticeships are available in a wide variety of sectors and roles and at different levels.

DHL (Express) currently have apprenticeships in both their Frontline and Backline Customer Services Teams at East Midlands Airport. The Frontline Customer Service department is responsible for handling the vast majority of contacts between DHL and customers on a daily basis. The Frontline Customer Service Advisor is a key role for Customer Service, whose ultimate aim is logging customer’s bookings, maximising the booking conversion and increasing sales of value added services within the product offering and tracking customer’s shipments.
As an apprentice within the frontline department, you will support the function as outlined above, whilst attending the necessary workshops and learning interventions in order to complete your apprenticeship programme within the required timeframe. Staffordshire University - Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Programmes
Our degree-level apprenticeship programme allows you to earn while you learn through a combination of work and study, preparing you to launch your life-changing career with the police.
Few careers can be more rewarding than that of a police officer and from 2020, all new police officers will be required to have a degree-level qualification. Our Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to achieve that qualification while you’re helping to fight crime and protecting people from harm as a Student Officer.
Staffordshire University has partnered with four of our regional forces, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Mercia and West Midlands, to provide you with expert teaching and support you throughout your policing career. During the three years of your apprenticeship, you will be on probation with your chosen police force.
