Job Description

Administrator shared post 22.5 hours worked as one post Monday, Tuesday and Friday , 2nd post Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Join our  busy Forensic Outreach Liaison Service admin team providing support to the clinicians and managers.

The post holder will work as part for the Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service. The team has been formed for 2 years and is aimed at   providing a safe, effective and timely pathway from medium/low secure care into the community, for people requiring ongoing specialist forensic mental health care following a secure inpatient admission. The service is within the South East, Adult Secure Services Provider Collaborative and the post holder will be based at the Trevor Gibbens Unit in Maidstone, as part of the admin team. The role will provide specific admin support to a team Community Psychiatrist, as well as to the whole multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

A band 3 Administrator will be a flexible resource to support teams in the provision of services to include organisation of work for self and other team members and may have front line contact with service users, carers, the general public or other external stakeholders, as well as internal colleagues. Administrators will support one or more team(s). The focus of these posts will be on volume typing, preparation of correspondence and customer service, organisation eg diary management and organising meetings and events, taking minutes of meetings + maintenance of effective and efficient working systems and supporting business and performance management.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Scope will vary with each post depending on service needs (eg direct contact with clients) but may include any combination of the following tasks:

Post holders will have developed skills in customer care which they will
use to in their transactions with customers/clients/other external stakeholders and internal colleagues

  •  Occasionally posts at this level would
    be expected to deal with anxious
    clients or visitors using basic conflict
    resolutions skills and calling for
    assistance as appropriate
  • Posts within this banding may be
    using basic office skills in Word,
    Outlook, Power-point and Excel
    acquired through NVQ3/RSA3 or
    equivalent including inputting into
    spreadsheets, more complex charts
    eg inserting of labels and axis and
    more common formulas eg sum,
    mean and averages with some
