Salary (Grade S5): £23,067 to £26,715 per annum, plus £2,166 per annum London Weighting

Full-time, permanent (There will be a requirement to be part of an On-Call rota to cover overnight, weekend and University closure periods. For participation in the emergency Call Out, you will receive an additional allowance)

The Directorate of Estates is looking to recruit an Advanced Fitter for planned, reactive and out of hour’s maintenance duties. The work will involve maintaining the University’s fixed and mobile equipment.

You will have experience of installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and equipment relating to building services. In addition, it is essential that you have an understanding of mechanical building services and plant as well as boiler/heating systems. 

The successful candidate will hold a City & Guilds parts I & II, NVQ level 2 or equivalent, as well as a full UK driving license. You have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Necessary practical and theoretical skills to diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical building services plant and installations is also required as part of this role.
