About the role

Here at Babcock we are currently recruiting an Airfield Support Team (AST) Technician (ASTT).

You will be responsible to the Airfield Support Team Supervisor for all matters concerning Ground Radio/Airfield Engineering Support.

Your main duties will consist of:

  • Supporting an Incident Commander (Crown Servant)
  • Assisting your Supervisor in managing and controlling an inventory of Government provided equipment
  • Targeting and identifying growth opportunities
  • Control, manage and maintain all vehicle mounted and hand held management radios, including base station equipment
  • Controlling, managing and maintaining Station Crash Alarm System
  • Provide Siting Boards support and controlling
  • Co-ordinating and carrying out local calibration on Test Measuring Equipment.

What do I need to do the role?

Ideally you will come from a military engineering background or have previous airfield engineering experience.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Full driving licence
  • Experience of working successfully in a small team
  • QA Authorisations/Approvals experience
  • Previous TMEC/Ground Radio/ Air Elec trade experience

What else do I need to know?

  • All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
