SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a product/service portfolio ranging from M&E LV, HV, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.
What is the Role?
We have an exciting opportunity for Approved Electricians to join our business to support recent contract wins across the Plymouth and Cornwall region.
In this role you'll be involved in electrical installation works across commercial and industrial premises, including MOD, Healthcare and Manufacturing industries.
The position will be based from our Plymouth Office, and will cover the areas of Plymouth and Cornwall.
What do I need?
To be successful in applying for this role, you must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Electrical systems operating principals and ensure compliance with the current edition of BS7671, Construction Industry Safety Regulations as well as SSEC policies and procedures.
You will have completed your Electrical Apprenticeship and will have achieved an NVQ Level 3 (or approved equivalent) in installation and/or servicing/maintenance work or will have obtained a pass in the City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent).
In addition we require Achievement Measurement 2 or equivalent and you will have a thorough working knowledge of Industry Codes of Practice. You should have obtained, or have the ability to work towards City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
You should have a good working knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. You will have experience of Industrial & Commercial installation requirements and have the ability to effectively record faults/deviations of such.
You will have the ability to carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reporting to BS7671. You will be expected to manage your time effectively and liaise directly with our clients to arrange electrical isolations. Equally you'll have a passion for safety and enjoy working in a team as well as independently.
PASMA / IPAF training will be advantageous
Devonport Royal Dockyard Baseline Clearance would be advantageous.
It is an essential requirement for this role that you have a full, current driving licence.
