Salary: Depending on entry level appointment will be in accordance with the Career Grade at either City Pay Band 4, 6, 7 or 8
£25,991 - £29,577 per annum (City Pay Band 4)
£34,728 - £39,880 per annum (City Pay Band 6)
£39,880 - £44,863 per annum (City Pay Band 7)
£44,863 - £48,894 per annum (City Pay Band 8)
Working Hours: 37 per week (You will also be required to participate in the out of hours rota for dangerous structures)
Working Location: This will vary to cover work across the three authorities of the Shared Service

You will ensure the health, safety and welfare of persons in and around buildings by the implementation of the Building Regulations and associated legislation; within statutory time limits and to ensure that standards of service are met.
Our new Growth Structure supports career progression based on certain milestones, performance and evidence of your knowledge and experience. We now have two exciting opportunities for Area Building Control Surveyors where you will be able to use your professional judgement to interpret the regulations associated legislation and other technical guidance on construction sites, as well as providing a professional checking service to help achieve compliance with building standards.

Adding value to construction projects through early advice and providing a responsive on-site service the successful applicant will continue to build and maintain excellent relationships with local partners whilst demonstrating a strong focus on customer service.
Taking a lead on initiating and assisting with enforcement action to ensure the delivery of the Council’s obligations under the Building Act and associated legislation. The complexity of projects and the level of responsibility you would adopt would be commensurate with your experience and the level at which you join 3C Building Control.
