Our Housing Maintenance and Assets Service is looking for an organised, pragmatic expert in asbestos safety and risk management.  We are embarking on an exciting period of change and need you to ensure that the Council meets all our statutory obligations and responsibilities for compliance.

You will be a proven project manager and will have excellent influencing and negotiating skills which you will utilise fully.  We will look to you to lead on programming property inspections, reviewing asbestos reports and asbestos surveys, monitoring, and reporting on timely completion of related work to keep our tenants and leaseholders safe. You will provide expert input to the development of the Council’s Asbestos Risk Strategy and ensure that the associated Management Plan is fully developed and maintained.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their ability to manage and prioritise their workload and, with a methodical approach, you will ensure that work completed is to a high standard as well as prioritising necessary actions and developing and overseeing the administration of the Council’s asbestos risk management systems. We are looking for you to lead on the asbestos related configuration of our new ICT solution and improve on supported business processes.

As the lead technical expert in all asbestos related matters, you will provide advice and support to managers and staff across the service in order that they fulfil their compliance responsibilities.

We are able to offer a competitive benefits package which includes family friendly policies, a generous annual leave allowance, and access to the highly valued Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
