Having been awarded the contract to provide Aircraft Engineering Support and Airfield Services (AESAS) at Royal Naval Air Stations (RNAS) Yeovilton and Culdrose, we're continuing our strong working relationship across both these sites in supporting the Royal Navy's Merlin and Wildcat Helicopter Forces.
The Fitter ASSE will fulfil the duties of a Fitter Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Aircraft Servicing Support Equipment (ASSE) in accordance with Depth Operating Procedures (DOP), individual Engineering Authorisation Certificates and the Serco Management System (SMS).The successful post holder will be responsible to their Line Manager / Supervisor for ensuring that they cooperate with Line Management on all Health and Safety and Environmental matters. All contracted tasks are carried out in accordance with current Customer Policy and Regulations and other applicable statutory Regulations. Further training courses necessary to their job are attended as required by their Line Management. Other tasks within their capability are carried out as directed by their Line Manager. They participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and associated programmes when required. They remain flexible and carry out any other tasks within their capabilities and experience in support of the Contract as directed by the Site and Engineering Manager or their representative.
What you need to do the job:
Fitters (GSE)/(ASSE) are to have a good knowledge of aircraft servicing and engineering support equipment, with a working knowledge of the following: Aircraft Servicing and Support Equipment.
For this position, you will also require experience in the following areas:
- Lean Operating Procedures.
- Naval Air Publications.
- Health and Safety, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices.
- Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course.
