This is a full time contract, Monday - Friday. At B&Q we have a hybrid approach to working to increase flexibility in when and where we work. For this role we are looking for someone to be able to work from our head office 2-3 days a week, with flexibility to work from home 2-3 days a week.

Key responsibilities

This role ensures the correct accounting and controlling of designated areas within the B&Q P&L and Balance Sheet alongside completing month end close in an accurate and timely manner. Improvement and simplification of processes wherever possible is a key element of this role as well as communication with the business to ensure business activities can be supported whenever required.

This role will analyse cashflow actuals and prepare the 13 week cashflow forecast, looking for continuous improvement in process to ensure maximum accuracy. It will support the completion of the reporting on a monthly basis, taking ownership of your area in both the P&L and balance sheet including reconciliations in line with month end deadlines and ensuring that the accounting is accurate.

Required skills & experience

We require someone to be a part-qualified accountant for this role - CIMA / ACA / ACCA

We are looking for someone who is highly numerate with broad systems experience preferable including SAP packages and Microsoft office. The ideal candidate will be organised and methodical, with good Excel skills to enable the support of analysis of high volumes of data, as well as good problem solving skills within context of financial / procedural controls. We need an effective communicator with strong inter-personal skills, both written and verbal, who is ultimately a great team player with drive and self-motivation.
