The Kier Facilities Management team offers an incredibly wide range of innovative management and maintenance solutions, right across the UK - from the RAF Duxford base that welcomes over 20,000 visitors a year, to local fire stations that help protect millions of people. We're a crucial part of Kier Specialist Services, providing hard and soft facilities management to hundreds of Government department sites and public buildings - offering you a role that will challenge and reward you, every single day.
Kier Specialist Services are recruiting now for an Assistant Facilities Manager to manage and deliver FM services to the school site and associated users, on our contract with BSF Lewisham Schools, on the Bonus Pastor School site.
In this exciting role, you will coordinate the provision of planned and reactive maintenance across the site, supervising the onsite team and ensuring the work requirements are aligned to the needs of the contract. You'll also provide training support to the onsite FM team and have a visible presence on the school site to react to any incident or school management request.
What are we looking for?
You'll have previous experience within an FM or construction discipline, with a solid understanding of health and safety legislation. You'll also have a good understanding of the FM service, and the demands of the client and will have developed positive working relationships with schools, staff and governors. You'll also lead by example, understand the contractual laws and understand the distinction between a customer and contractual requirements.
What will you receive?
You can expect a competitive salary and an outstanding package that includes a matched pension scheme up to 7.5%, 26 days' annual leave (with the opportunity to buy or sell holiday), two employee Share Scheme options, together with additional valuable benefits such as:
- Free Life Assurance

This includes taking up your references, verifying your right to work in the UK, verifying your driving licence (if applicable) and a health assessment.
Due to the nature of this role, you will also be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (applicants with criminal convictions will be treated on a case by case basis. We do not discriminate based on an applicant's criminal record or the details of any offences disclosed to us). Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks.
