The Management Information and Analytics (MI&A) Standard Service is a new capability in our IT Services function. It provides tools and support to enable the business to produce accurate, current and insightful Management Information supported by analytics services to enable further investigations. These services are fundamental to the day-to-day operation of Serco and are mission critical in understanding and improving the business operations.

As part of the MI&A team, the Azure BI Analyst will be responsible for creating data analytics and reporting solutions to enable effective reporting and insight by business teams. You will engage closely with leads in the business to understand and develop requirements, provide expert knowledge of the data structures and presentation tools in order to deliver value-adding analytical solutions. You will bring innovation and pragmatism to help develop new insights to grow and optimise the business.

What you'll need to do the role

Firstly, you'll need extensive experience designing and building business intelligence reporting and analytics solutions with demonstrable business value-add. You'll need expert knowledge in Azure tools (Data Factory / Data Bricks / Analysis Services / Machine Learning) as well as experience with other BI visualisation and self-service tools such as Qlik and Tableau (Advantageous). You'll also have the ability to develop tabular models in Analysis Services models to present data in an intuitive way, so Business MI teams can build reports and perform their own analysis. Lastly, delivery experience using advanced analytics, data science and big data technologies to solve real business problems is advantageous. As is experience with wider data management capabilities such as data quality management and master data management.
