The Defence Primary Healthcare (Dental) are looking for a several professional, organised and dedicated Band 3 Civilian Dental Nurses to join their friendly, hardworking teams based at the following locations:
2x CDN Band 3 at Dental Centre Tidworth, SP9 7BQ
1x CDN Band 3 at Dental Centre Bulford Camp, SP4 9AD

Our successful candidates will be enthusiastic and motivated Dental Nurses who will work within the Ministry of Defence to provide clinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care.
These positions are all full-time posts of 37.5 hours per week, and due to need for full time clinical support they are not suitable for part time or job sharing.
The main duties will include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring surgeries are prepared appropriately for the day’s patients in accordance with current regulations.
Reviewing the appointment diary at the start of each planned procedure and ensure the appropriate instrument sets are selected.
Carrying out and recording daily maintenance, servicing and pre-use checks of dental equipment reporting defects in accordance with current equipment care policies.
Ensuring a daily test radiograph is taken and processed with all findings reported in accordance with extant policies and signed off by a clinician or trained individual.
Recording accurate dental charting for each patient as required by the dentist.
Meeting the needs of the patients by monitoring, supporting and reassuring each individual according to their specific needs, providing appropriate advice when required. This may include recognising and interpreting behaviours, especially those associated with anxious patients and dealing with them accordingly.
There may be an occasional requirement for the successful candidate to carry out out-of-hours emergency cover.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.
While the jobs will be primarily located at their respective Dental Centres, applicants must be prepared to travel to and work from other dental centres within the Region when requested by Practice Manager/Regional Headquarters.

National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) Certificate or NVQ in Oral Health Care Dental Nursing Level 3.
General Dental Council (GDC) registration and evidence of Continued Professional Development.
Immunity to Hepatitis B.
Full UK driving licence to enable possible cover working at other local military dental centres would be beneficial.
