Then come join the friendly team at Defence Primary Healthcare, Dental Centre RAF Benson. Please note this role is recruiting for Full-Time only at 37.5 hours a week. Some of the available Benefits: Successful candidates will be entitled to a Market Skills Supplement of £5,750 per annum (pro rata for P/T) GDC Annual Fees are reimbursed Regional training & Peer Review days Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training supplied Our successful candidate will primarily provide dental treatment, oral hygiene instruction & education, administration, plus working towards improving and maintaining the dental health of entitled personnel. Duties of the role include but are not limited to: Carrying out work under the direction of a registered dentist who has examined the patient and indicated in writing the course of treatment to be provided. This is in accordance with the Dental Auxiliary Regulations 1986, as amended by the Dental Auxiliaries (amended) Regulations 1991. Administering local anaesthetic when specifically prescribed by a Dental Officer. Providing other appropriate clinical procedure as prescribed by a Dental Officer in support of the Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) Dental Oral Health Strategy. Ensuring that not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for appointed patients, and to undertake treatment at other local Centres as directed by the Senior Dental Officer and Principal Dental Officer. Provide the Senior Dental Officer with clinical and administrative support to enable the primary purpose to be achieved. Carrying out preventive cross infection procedures including sterilisation of instruments and materials. And be prepared to: In conjunction with the receptionist, overseeing and maintaining own appointment book by liaising between Dental Officer and patients concerning appointments. Overseeing or taking lead on any National Health Campaigns or organised promotions within the dental department. Travelling to and work from other local dental centres when requested by Line Manager/Regional Headquarters/Practice Manager. The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of the following: Knowledge of range of oral health procedures; acquired through training to degree level or to diploma level plus experience to degree equivalent level. Current full General Dental Council registration. Full UK Driving License, to enable regular working from other local military dental centres will be expected. Experience of Healthcare Governance and Leadership along with a competence in the use of Information Systems would be desirable.
