You will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to military personnel. Within this role you will be responsible for the delivery of appropriate treatment, screening and advice to patients within their professional competence. You will work within the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct and adhere to all NMC standards and Ministry of Defence (MOD) policies and guideline. Essential Criteria You will have Professional/ clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree/diploma level. Duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Support the care of patients with chronic illnesses e.g. Asthma, Diabetes, CHD and hypertension ensuring continued maintenance of the Chronic Disease Register. Undertake technical nursing treatments and procedures for patients (e.g. wound care, sutures removal, ECGs). Assist with health and well-being clinics (e.g. smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol misuse) using health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills. Assist with men and women’s health screening and education along with provision of family planning services and sexual health. Assist with the development of plans to meet the health needs of patients including diagnostic tests; treatment plans, health promotion and prevention. Anticipate likely potential physical and psychological problems caused either by the condition or by treatment. Benefits: Free Parking and Access to Gym.
