We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with strong interest and experience in working with people with Learning Disabilities and or Autism to work at The Daisy.
The Daisy is a purpose built rehabilitation unit for people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Trauma. It has recently been assessed by the CQCas Good in every aspect and last year it won a service award for patient safety.
The Daisy has five self contained flats, a communal kitchen as well as separate kitchens, large communal areas and gardens.
We work with people who have so much Trauma in their lives that they struggle to cope in the community and it is the role and purpose of The Daisy to support the service users to the point of discharge and beyond.
Main duties of the job
Although the post will be based at The Daisy (Devizes) working with their multi-disciplinary team and there may be some flexibility to work within the community team with LDWISS as both services are working more closely together.
You will need to use your core skills to work with the service users complex health needs by improving their abilities whilst supporting families, carers, and support staff.
Also your duty will be to promote social inclusion, whilst liaising closely with partner services in the community and within the trust.
It would be beneficial to be able to complete sensory assessments but not compulsory as training can be given to the right person.
