Job Description

This is a fixed-term/secondment for 12 months. If you are an internal candidate on a substantive contract you may only apply for a secondment. Please ensure you have the support of your current line manager before applying.   At the end of your secondment you will return to your current post at your current grade. 

Lime unit  provide a  service for men in a psychiatric crisis and help them with recovery .Lime have a well established team that support each other and have a patient cantered approach to the care they give , this is reflected in the positive feedback that the unit get from patient , carers and other services.

Lime involve staff in quality improvement projects and innovation , Lime are a training unit for nursing students and other MDT professionals , receiving very positive feedback from all that have experienced the team .

Main duties of the job

 

To provide, and supervise the delivery of high standards of nursing care to service users, in accordance with up-to-date evidence-based professional practice and AWPpolicies.

Able to plan, implement and evaluate resident care and act accordingly if untoward changes occur. Maintain accurate, appropriate records. Knowledge of medication rounds and safe administration and disposal of drugs.

Able to develop an excellent therapeutic relationship; function as named nurse undertaking all aspects of the nursing process in order to provide best possible patient care. Able to communicate effectively and efficiently with other members of the team

Effective report writing to provide clear relevant information for ward rounds, case Conferences, MHA tribunals etc..

Control and restraint, and breakaway trained. Able to demonstrate experience of effective risk assessment and management. Experienced in current developments in mental health care and nursing practice

Maintain patient confidentiality

Motivated to provide the highest standard in a changing service

Understanding of the importance of Health and Safety

Able to demonstrate an awareness of the importance of equal opportunities

Able to recognise signs of stress in self and in others

Experience of basic counselling and group work
