An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 RMN/RMNLD to join Daisy Unit in Devizes, supporting adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism who can have complex needs and challenging behaviour
As a nurse it will be your job to empower service users to fulfil their potential. All the service users have individual packages of care that are tailored to enable them to access local leisure, volunteering and educational services. Service users will be supported to take positive risks and develop their skills to immerse themselves in community life.
Daisy consists of five self-contained flats that enables service users to live independently whilst at the same time have the additional support of a residential service.
Training on the use of Positive Behavioural Management will be provided to all staff as will the opportunity to develop new skills. Ongoing support will be given for Continued Professional Development (CPD) and all staff will be able to link in with the professional nursing networks within AWP.
Main duties of the job
Administering and monitoring medication in lines with the NMC and AWPpolicies
Assessing and planning care requirements.
Supervising junior staff
Organising of workloads
Providing adequate community facilities to the service users, maintain adequate recordings to present to MDT meetings.
Providing leadership skills to lead the shift
