About this opportunity
Gleeds has an exciting new opportunity for a Business Development Manager to work in a demanding, fast paced and rewarding environment in our West Midlands region.  We are looking for someone who has knowledge of the Property and Construction industry within both public and private sectors with extensive knowledge of the Birmingham market.  You will lead on all Business Development activities to raise the profile of our brand and the sustainable growth of Gleeds West Midlands Region.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Key outputs:
  • Maintain awareness of Gleeds Brand and how this is positioned in the marketplace
  • Gather intelligence of future spending streams and project opportunities
  • Propose BD initiatives aligned to agreed target sectors and clients
  • Research to support developing own relationships within client organisations
  • Form positive relationships with industry linked professionals and suppliers
  • Attend client and industry events
  • Post and support Gleeds communications through social media networks
  • Advise and participate in the collation of BD and marketing collateral
  • Develop and maintain method to track opportunities, providing periodic updates
  • Support Gleeds Corporate teams with information for bids, website, marketing brochures etc

About The Candidate
Who we’re looking for:

Applicants should be well presented, confident and have a friendly, professional manner with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
  • Minimum two years’ experience working in a business development role within the property industry
  • Strong knowledge of the West Midlands and Birmingham market place
  • Ability to operate in both Public and Private Sector
  • Demonstrable teamwork experience - needs to have a strong sense of responsibility for the success of the team as well as the ability to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills are a “must”, as you will be dealing with internal and external clients on a regular basis
  • Use of Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
  • Ambitious and self-motivated
Ideally you will be educated to Degree level or equivalent
