About the Department

SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a service portfolio ranging from M&E, LV, HV, Electrical Compliance, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.

Our South Regional Team deliver M&E projects and maintenance to customers across Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, West Sussex and East Sussex.

What is the Role?

In order to support our growth aspirations, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to work within our South Regional Team in pursuit of Mechanical and Electrical Contracting opportunities.

Working from our Southampton depot covering Hampshire and Dorset you'll develop new key accounts and deliver consistent contract conversion. Reporting to the Regional Business Development Manager (South) and working in collaboration with operational colleagues to deliver a local sales strategy and proactively develop a sustainable opportunity pipeline across a wide range of sectors which includes; health, education, commercial and wider construction.

The role is flexible in its working, from depot or home, however due to the nature of the travel, we will be looking for you to hold a full driving licence.

What Do I Need?

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

- Experience in M&E contracting

- Awareness of core group deliverables such as HV, LV, mechanical and energy efficiency initiatives.

- Good knowledge of the local area and a network of key contacts in Hampshire and Dorset.

- A track record of growing key accounts and new business development

- Experience in CRM, pipeline and bid management

The role will be suitable for a self-motivated, tenacious individual with a hunger to succeed as well as an ability to work well across multi-functional and sometimes remote teams.
