Case Officer (Climate Change Support)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Climate Change Support Case Officer to join us. Hours: 37 hours (full time). Fixed term for 2 years to March 2023

What we’re looking for…

An enthusiastic and motivated individual to help the Council deliver its ambitious actions to address the climate change and ecological emergency as set out in its Environment Strategy. You will work as part of a small team comprised of our Environment  Officer, Living Environment Officer and Environmental Communication Officer; working together to ensure that SSDC and its wider communities are working towards carbon neutrality by 2030. You will support diverse work programmes that will cover protecting and enhancing our natural and built environments, with a particular emphasis on carbon reduction, energy management, woodland creation and networks for nature. You will need environmental expertise to support the wider team in their work securing grants developing business cases and handling project implementation.  Confidence and experience  in engaging  communities and local interest groups would be beneficial and candidates need to be confident in communicating within their area of expertise.
