Job title: Hard FM and Engineering Category Specialist

Base location: Flexible - This is a remote position

Salary: Up to £55,000

Procurement supports the business by understanding requirements and providing innovative solutions from the supply market that reduce cost, improve service & quality and protect the business from risk.


As the Hard FM and Engineering Category Specialist you will provide Hard FM and Engineering (Fleet, Marine, Rail) category and market expertise to identify benefits, mitigate risk & drive best value from Serco's spend and supply base globally. You will also contribute to the global category management strategy across all Serco sectors to maximise benefits and allow the effective deployment of Hard FM and Engineering Solutions.


We'll be leaning on your expertise to optimise value delivery, risk mitigation and performance enhancement of the supply base through monitoring and analysis.

What you'll need to do the role

Firstly, you will need a track record of Hard FM and Engineering (Fleet, Marine, Rail) category management and effecting change and continuous improvement through creation and implementation of innovative category strategies and effective supplier relationships. You'll need to demonstrate a consistent track record of delivery within large and complex Procurement organisations. You'll also need a strategic mindset while being flexible to local differences and creative to encourage and seek innovative approaches. Lastly, you'll need to be a hard FM category subject matter expert with a strong focus on asset management and lifecycle.
