Catering and Retail Stores Operative
About the role
Here at Babcock International, we are currently recruiting for a Catering and Retail Stores Operative to join the team carrying out stock management activities within the Store, creating transfers, purchase orders and listing stock that is required as well as receipt, safe storage, delivery and dispersal of all catering and retail stock.
Further responsibilities include discussing issues and implementing change requests with production and the supplier, working as part of a team to ensure deadlines are met and expenditure is kept within budget while maintaining a good quality service.
You will also be responsible for issuing and delivering goods, including transporting to various locations across HMNB Clyde ensuring they receive goods in time for food production whilst ensuring the safe storage of goods adhere to all H&S, Environmental and Food Safety and Hygiene legislation.
What do I need to do the role?
Experience of working in a Store or Warehouse environment would be an advantage. You will be required to undertake various manual handling activities, therefore previous experience of working with mechanical handling equipment is also beneficial.
You will be highly organised with a methodical approach to managing your workload, are computer literate and also possess a valid UK driving licence.
Qualified certification in stores/warehouse management and/or a food hygiene certificate is also desirable.
What else do I need to know?
This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport. We are happy to talk about flexible working.
