College Maintenance Officer

Job Description

Job role:

We are looking for a Property & Environment Officer to join our Estates team at Guildford College.

In this role, you will ensure that the College buildings, facilities and grounds provide a suitable, safe, clean and secure environment. No two days are the same, from unlocking the site, to conducting office moves, to repair jobs and painting and decorating.

You will also provide a customer focused, responsive service to college students, staff and visitors, ensuring the college campus provides the best environment to support learning.

This role requires the postholder to be on call every fourth week, which involves holding the on-duty phone, and attending to any out of hours emergencies whilst you are on call. Travel between our Surrey campuses may also be required at times.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

You will bring a positive, solution focussed attitude and work well in a team. With previous experience in a property and estates role, you will have the ability to carry out maintenance tasks and have an understanding of Health and Safety and Safeguarding procedures.

What are the benefits of this role?

You will be joining a hardworking, enthusiastic team, who's passion is to maintain a high standard for all students, staff and visitors. As Guildford College is now part of the Activate Learning Group, you will work in collaboration with our wider Estates team across the group and benefit from a close-knit community of experts and leaders to support the sharing of best practice and encourage individual growth. This is full time, permanent contract.
