The Role

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor seeking a Commercial Manager role in Treforest, near Cardiff? Are you working towards RICS, with experience in Rail and 3rd party funding?

This is a commercial co-ordination role, to ensure that all data collected, (which is a combination of Programme Compliance Data, Financial and Commercial data and evidence-based reporting information), is of sufficient standard and quality to substantiate claims for ERDF.

This role will work with and provide assistance to the Authority (TfW) to ensure compliance with the requirements set out in the approval contracts for the schemes and with the Structural Fund Regulations.

A solid knowledge of commercial and financial procedures and reporting will be vital in ensuring compliance as well as a general knowledge of Railway Construction works and Planning and Programming of Construction Works.

This is an opportunity to work within a unique Transformational Project within South Wales and gain exposure to a wide range of works on a multidisciplinary Rail Project within a dynamic and challenging environment.



What is the purpose of this role?

This role is key to ensuring that European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) budgets are fully realised and all ERDF Claims are made in accordance with the stated reporting requirements.

There are a number of projects in South Wales undertaken as part of the Core Valley Lines Transformation Works that are eligible for ERDF contributions these works are undertaken by a number of contracting organisations but managed centrally via a small Transformation Team that also Includes members from Transport for Wales



What will this role involve?

The role will involve liaising Works Package Managers, Commercial Managers and Contractors to collect and collate information and assist with the preparation of reports to support the Authority with the ERDF Claims process.

The role will be expected to assist where required in general commercial support to the project liaising with the Client where required.

Manage the allocation of Works Package costs and budgets in to correct funding budgets and liaise with the Client at each point.



What are we looking for?

Quantity Surveying degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) is desirable, or able to demonstrate a proven track record in commercial management and procurement

Prior knowledge or experience of working with ERDF and or WEFO (welsh Government) on similar joint funded schemes would be an advantage although support will be provided where required.

A solid knowledge of commercial and financial procedures and reporting will be vital in ensuring compliance as well as a general knowledge of Railway Construction works and Planning and Programming of Construction Works.

Knowledge of ERDF joint funded schemes within a similar environment is desirable
