SCALE NS5 £19,698 TO £20,092 per annum plus night shift premium*

Full Time – 37 hours per week worked on a rota

based at multiple sites across the district


Newark and Sherwood District Council runs its own community alarm service called Careline. This service is for elderly and vulnerable members of the community and helps them to lead a safe and independent life in their home. As a Customer Service Advisor for Careline you will be the first point of contact for customers, a reassuring voice to calm them in times of trouble and get them the assistance they require.


We are looking for empathetic and caring individuals, who are able to identify needs quickly and summon appropriate assistance. Previous experience with Careline or Tunstall would be beneficial but is not essential as training will be given. In order to deliver the customer access service to a high standard, you must have a proactive approach to work and be happy to make decisions independently. Are you the person we need?


Successful candidates must have the skills to communicate with a range of people including tenants and their families along with external agencies who deliver care within the community. You will also have gained a minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent. You will have the ability to work in a fast-paced customer service environment and be a positive, self-motivated person with the ability to work independently and as part of a large team. You will be able to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills and be determined to provide solutions for our customers on a daily basis.


Through working in this role, you will develop an excellent understanding of people and property management and being part of the Customer Access Service can lead to opportunities to work towards qualifications and progress your career in the housing sector.


You will work a range of shifts as our services to customers are delivered 24 hours per day, over 7 days a week, which average out to 37 hours per week.


*night shift premiums of .25% basic rate is payable to hours worked between 11pm and 7am.
