Customer Service/Cleaning Assistant

Job Description

You will be passionate about cleanliness and as such you will be responsible for taking care of our facilities, carrying out various cleaning and maintenance duties. Your main goal will be to keep our building/s in a clean and orderly condition and assist your NAAFI colleagues to continuously deliver and maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and customer service through all aspects of our business. You will protect and promote NAAFI at all times and ensure our customers and colleagues have an enjoyable NAAFI experience. Demonstrating integrity and respect is in integral part of your daily duties. You will be responsible for:

The proactive maintenance of cleanliness, hygiene and health and safety of our premises and ensuring the requirements of all cleaning rotas and schedules are completed;

Dealing with NAAFI customers and any member of the military or public encountered during the completion of your duties in a proactive, courteous, friendly and helpful manner;

Maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene, including personal hygiene, appearance and conduct;

Following all health and safety regulations, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH assessments and safety data sheets;

Ensuring all standards of Health & Safety, and Food Safety legislation are achieved during the course of carrying out cleaning duties. Your safety and that of all others that may be affected by your actions is paramount;

Safely performing various cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, making beds, cleaning pots, pans, dishes and catering equipment as well as restroom cleaning across all of NAAFI ‘s operations (this list is not exhaustive);

Notifying your line manager immediately in case there is a need for repair and taking the appropriate H&S measures if any;

Cooperating with line managers and staff in all locations;

Checking and arranging replenishment of the necessary cleaning materials and ensuring all legislation and requirements of the manufacturer’s instructions are met including use of the correct PPE and appropriate storage.

You will also be required undertake any reasonable request within the scope and grade of the role and to carry out other duties as reasonably requested by NAAFI for the needs of the business to enable delivery of service, including taking part in activities in the wider operational part of the business as and when required.

You will initially work in our cleaning team, but will be expected to work across al retail, catering, and, leisure hospitality streams from time to time, or on a more permanent basis.
