Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Education Autism Practitioner (HLTA) to join our OUTSTANDING school (OFSTED, May 2022) and help transform the future the autistic young people with complex needs we support.

You will be part of our Land-based Vocational Learning team teaching autistic young people skills in animal care and horticulture. You will work alongside our Land-based team, which include teachers, therapists, and behaviour support leads, as well as liaising closely with our residential care teams.

Salary: From £23,500 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Mon – Fri 8.30am to 4pm
42 weeks per year (including 2 x 5 day ‘Training Weeks’)
Contract type: Permanent - Full-time

The role of Education Autism Practitioner Level 3 (HLTA)

We are a well-resourced and well-equipped school, set in beautiful grounds in Hermitage, Berkshire. Our vision is for the autistic young people with complex needs we support to achieve health, happiness, independence and work skills at the relevant levels.

You will be responsible for helping to deliver all aspects of our Land-based programmes of learning working in conjunction with the other members of our Land-based team. By supporting young people throughout their day, you are contributing to the key skills required for life after Prior’s Court including within the community. Your support and teaching of new life skills will contribute to a more positive, independent future for each individual.

You will work with amazing autistic children and young people, supportive colleagues, have access to professional development opportunities and have a good work/life balance.
