Estimator - Crawley

Project sectors - Commercial, Education, MOD, Health, Aviation, leisure and multi frameworks

The Opportunity...

Kier Southern are recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join the passionate team in our Crawley office. With our diverse portfolio of projects, we are looking for an Estimator who has a passion for the project at hand whilst also being able to work within a good and healthy team environment. We understand this approach is essential to ensure quality finished projects within budget and on time for our clients.

The role will include the following responsibilities:
  • Advise of any business opportunities for the Company
  • Review the status of workload with the Head of Estimating at departmental meetings
Pre-tender & Marketing:
  • Manage robust and long term relationships with Clients and Design Teams in line with the general Strategy
  • Assist/Manage the production of tender documents
  • Attend pre-tender interviews where required and post tender presentations
Estimating:
  • Prepare and lead the compilation of tenders
  • Advise the Head of Estimating of any tendering difficulties that you are experiencing
  • Prepare material in the agreed format for presentation to the Adjudication Panel
  • Develop client and consultant relations and manage expectations
  • Comply with estimating processes to ensure it complies with standing orders
  • Work in conjunction with administration staff in preparation of the estimate
  • Provide input to the handover process from estimating to contract
  • Provide data as requested to review the performance of the supply chain member
  • Attend meetings with Client, Designers, Quantity Surveyor's, etc where necessary
  • Provide input into the review of supply chain members
Ideally you will be degree qualified, have similar project sector experience and good technical construction knowledge.
