Facilities Maintenance Technician (Plumbing Biased)

Job Description

As an Estates Maintenance Technician, you'll support the Maintenance Operations Manager in delivering planned and reactive maintenance across our facilities. Key responsibilities include:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs on plant and facility equipment.

Performing weekly flushing and monthly temperature testing as part of legionella management procedures.

Diagnosing faults and troubleshooting mechanical and facility-related issues.

Responding to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns across site.

Working closely with contractors to ensure maintenance and repair activities are completed safely and to MTC standards.

Completing statutory inspections and maintaining accurate service reports and maintenance records.

Using CAFM systems to manage and update work orders.

Supporting continuous improvement and problem-solving activities across the maintenance function.



What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

Previous experience in a maintenance position.

Relevant Level 3 qualification in a related discipline.

Strong practical maintenance and fault-finding skills.

Ability to work at height.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Flexibility to participate in a 24/7 standby rota for emergency call-outs.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.

Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.



Desirable

Knowledge of boilers and water treatment systems, including maintenance and repair.

IOSH Working Safely qualification.
