About the Role

Do you have experience of providing direct support in the home to children and families with diverse needs? Do you have experience of delivering parenting programmes particularly with children aged 0-5? Do you have a genuine drive and passion for supporting families who are facing challenge and adversity? Are you able to work to brief timescales whilst providing meaningful, measurable and evidence-based practices delivering positive outcomes for families?

If so, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a part time Family Wellbeing worker to join our Family Help team based in Charnwood locality. 

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, e.g. social care, health or childcare, OR substantial experience in providing direct support to families.
  • Experience of working with families experiencing difficulties in parenting or behaviour management. 
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and/or families 
  • Knowledge and awareness of issues which may have an impact on the lives of families such as domestic violence and abuse, mental health difficulties, substance misuse, poverty, housing 
  • Knowledge of child development and Early Years Foundation Stage 
  • Experience of carrying out assessments, support planning, formulating action plans and reporting outcomes
  • An understanding of the impact of discrimination on the lives of those from minority ethnic communities and others that experience social exclusion, and an ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.

In addition, we also expect you to share  our commitment to our values  and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
