Job Description

Serco: Yarl's Wood IRC

Permanent, Full Time

£29,823 per annum + Excellent Corporate Benefits Package

We're recruiting for a FM Services Officer to join our busy FM team at Yarl's Wood Immigration Centre - a fully contained residential centre housing adult men and women. We focus on decency and respect in all aspects of care for our residents and use continuous innovation to further improve and develop our service.

A large part of this role is supporting the team with system reactive and preventative maintenance, additional works to all aspects of security systems, fire detection, life safety equipment and any other equipment within your capacities - therefore, ideally you will have worked in a similar role or environment where you can immediate value!

You will work as part of a close-knit team and deliver on accountabilities including

  • Advise the Line Manager of the progress on the contract
  • Participate and comply with material ordering and procurement procedures
  • Assist in multi trade support of other members of the FM service team in completing work
  • Be part of a call out rota

It is important to note that working in such a secure environment can be challenging at times.  In return we can offer a supportive and collaborative environment that respects work/life balance and ultimately contributes to the delivery of vital public services in the UK.

What you'll need to do the job

Although working as part of the wider FM Team, you will work autonomously to carry our works at times so you must enjoy working independently and have a flexible attitude to getting stuck in and delivering where required!

Health & Safety knowledge and awareness.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary, pension (matched up to 6%).
  • A fantastic culture and supportive team; volunteer leave; continuous training and development opportunities.
  • A range of benefits to support the health and wellbeing of you and your family, such as Employee Assistance Programme, Simply Health Plans  and more.
  • Serco Benefits Package: Access to a huge range of discounts and exclusive deals.
  • The chance to make a positive difference in a company passionate about diversity and inclusion.
  • Free on site parking
