About the role
We're looking for a Functional Analyst within Business Solutions, Marine & Technology division to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.
You will work with a team of Developers, Testers, Analysts, Project Managers, Solution Managers and Product Owners throughout the product life cycle and where appropriate follow Agile principles.
The Business Solutions Team support the delivery and maintenance of a variety of COTS and internally developed applications, which support a variety of business functions. As a Functional Analyst, you will be joining a wider team of Functional Analysts providing solution consultancy and contributing to the delivery of work packages being managed by Business Solutions.
What do I need to do the role?
You will have a Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent qualification and/or proven experience as well as experience with Supply Chain focused IT/Business Applications. You will need knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and of Agile SCRUM methodology
We would also like you to have experience in the following areas:
* Experience of working within/alongside the Supply Chain Function and an awareness of the IT tools that support it
* Capability to expand this awareness and gain a holistic understanding of the solutions that support the Supply Chain function
* Experience of using ERP tools
* Able to take high level project requirements and break them down into functional requirements to communicate to a delivery team
Lastly you will identify new ideas, solutions and areas for improvement within the FA team (and the organisation) and understand the importance of adhering to internal processes and procedures consistent with the rest of the department
What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
