Post Title: Apprentice Gardener

 

Post Reference: GDN31

 

Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday and occasional weekends with flexibility to meet business needs. This will include one day per week off the job training where you will attend College.

 

Salary: £8,273.20 per annum (£4.30 per hour) paid in monthly instalments. This is the National Apprenticeship rate of pay for apprentices if they are either aged under 19 or aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship. Apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum (NMW) or National Living Wage (NLW) for their age if they are aged 19 or over and once they have completed the first year of their apprenticeship.  More information is also available on the government web site www.gov.uk

 

Job Purpose: To assist in the maintenance of the historic gardens and the Estate whilst undertaking an accredited apprenticeship qualification.

 

Vision: Fixed-Term for 24 months or until the qualification has been achieved, whichever is the earlier

 

Status: For this role, we are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and self-motivated candidate interested in starting their horticulture career. Working in a well know historic Dorset landscape, you will have the opportunity to gain practical skills and valuable horticulture knowledge from the Head Gardener and his team. A willingness to work and a passion for the subject are essential requirements.
