What you'll do
The Head of Release Management responsible to manage the release management processes for satellite systems, considering project (change) and business as usual demand. Along the daily operational and also technical tasks this function asks for being able to answer many questions about the software change process and responds to audits.
Additionally you will be heading a team of 4 release and environment managers.
The focus is mainly set on ‘Classic’ satellite systems, such as output management Software, e-Archive, management and regulatory reporting, data warehouse, middleware etc.. Most of these applications, operated on virtual servers, have interfaces to our core banking System Avaloq and release in line with the core banking system.
You and your team will be responsible for:
Release planning / alignment, governance and scope management
Change integration and release packaging into UAT environments
Change and release deployment into productive systems.
Support test and integration management
Identification of optimisation and automation opportunities of the deployment processes
Project support (consulting)
Collaboration with 3rd party providers / suppliers for code deliveries and integration
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you should have experience as a Release- and Environment Manager. You’ll need to be solution and service oriented and taking ownership.
Minimal 2 year experience as a Release- and Environment Manager
People management / leadership skills
IT / technical education
Basic handling of Unix and Windows environments
Own initiative, self-starter qualities and persistency
Analytical & structured thinking / working
Knowledge in using JIRA & Confluence
Very good communication skills
Knowledge of agile methodology and agile software development practises is beneficiary
You’ll also demonstrate:
Good social grace in contact with project Managers, release managers and 3rd party providers as well as developers in some areas
Customer service oriented (7x24h)
Working in a matrix organisation
Fast in adapting to new procedures and working practices of a dynamic and international environment
Fluent English skills, both spoken and written, with German being a bonus
