In partnership with National Highways, Skanska is delivering the A47 road improvement project aimed at alleviating congestion and enhancing safety. We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our infrastructure team based at our Thickthorn Junction office in Norwich. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced safety profession to work in a collaborative environment influencing and leading on all aspects of health and safety performance. Please note, due to the nature of this role, there is a full time requirement to be on site. 

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Health & Safety and Wellbeing (SHW) policies and statutory requirements in project operations. 
  • Provide management with guidance on preventing accidents and ill-health and support the practical implementation of SHW policies.
  • Assist the Project Managers in preparing and developing the Project Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan & coordinate reviews as required.
  • Conduct site SHW inspections and participate in audits. Maintain the health and safety competency matrix and provide advice on assessing and appointing sub-contractors.
  • Assist in preparing and implementing SHW training courses, including inductions/presentations and promoting the Injury Free Environment (IFE) programme. 
  • Advise on preparing SHW risk assessments and Method Statements. Monitor project SHW performance, provide necessary reports, and assist in investigating accidents, incidents, near misses, and other occurrences.

We're looking for: 

  • Strong Health, Safety & Wellbeing related experience
  • NEBOSH Construction or NEBOSH General Certification or equivalent NVQ
  • Grad IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent membership
  • NVQ Level 3 or above
  • Driving Licence
