Job Description

Highways Contract and Inspection Manager

The Role:

Working in conjunction with the Highway Asset and Network Manager the role will focus on the management of services and contracts, to deliver improvements in highways and street lighting. You will be responsible for the day to day management and monitoring of budgets, approximately £2m revenue funding, and for the delivery of projects, £5 – 10m capital funding, developing, and maintaining long term relationships with external contractors and consultants.

What we are looking for:

  • Knowledge and experience of Highway Services including contract management and highway services.
  • Ability to identify and analyse complex problems and identify solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualification in Highways / Engineering or considerable experience.
  • Membership (or eligibility for membership) of an appropriate body.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle to carry out site visits.
