Job Title: HR Advisor (12 Months FTC)

About the Role.
Here at Babcock International we're looking for an HR Advisor to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.
As an HR Advisor you'll join the HRA team providing expert advice on HR Policies and Procedures and support Managers with practical HR related advice and guidance. Using your previous experience gained in an HR Generalist role you'll support the business in all aspects of People Management - from Performance Management, Employee Relations and Welfare issues, to Disciplinary, Grievance and Appeal processes. You'll build strong working relationships with Managers and seek to continuously improve the HR service.
What do I need to do the role?
You'll be qualified to degree level in an HR discipline and will have a CIPD level 5 qualification.
We would also like you to have the following:
- Sound and compliant understanding of Employment Law and understanding of potential changes
- Practical experience of working alongside Trade Unions
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Programmes and HR Systems
- Experience of working with and advising Senior Managers and Stakeholders
Lastly, strong interpersonal and communication skills together with relationship building capabilities are essential for this position, as you will advise and work with a number of people at all levels across the business.
What else do I need to know?
- The successful candidate will hold, or be eligible to acquire, national Security Clearance at the appropriate level for this post.
- This is a full-time 12 Month fixed-term contract
