What you'll do

As an Innovation Consultant, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved with different activities depending on the needs of the venture you’re working with. These will include day-to-day venture management, implementing an assumption led delivery approach to de-risk our ventures, navigating bank governance and committees, producing reports, and supporting the venture board in making key strategic decisions.

As well as this, you’ll be:

  • Supporting with coaching and resources to overcome key challenges
  • Working with key internal stakeholders to onboard suppliers
  • Managing the collaboration and knowledge sharing between our ventures to help them overcome challenges using learnings, key contacts and best practice
  • Supporting internal governance processes to make sure our ventures are operating within bank policy
  • Promoting an innovative culture among our ventures by understanding and providing feedback on their operating rhythm as well as sharing knowledge

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with business and market knowledge, across retail & institutional banking, so that we can have visibility of our competitors and are able to innovate at pace. While experience and knowledge of the SME segment of the UK economy isn’t essential, what we will look for is a passion and drive to support innovation and develop our strategy, so we can respond to the changing needs of our customers.

You’ll also need:

  • Knowledge of trends in the FinTech market and competitor activity
  • The ability to challenge and advocate ventures
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to enthuse others and make sure that there's a positive culture across the wider team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
