Join us as a Innovation Designer

  • In this key role, you’ll provide the service design of sponsored innovation projects, including problem solving and ensuring a consistent high standard of outputs from initial concept to first market launch
  • Conduct user research to discover customer insights and inspire new perspectives and ideas, sharing them within the team and other key business areas of the Bank such as Communications, Marketing and other business stakeholders
  • Anticipate and respond to changing customer demands and disruptive technologies
  • Create new service concepts and designs on a range of innovation projects, solutions and communications

What you'll do

As an Innovation Designer, you’ll support the development of high priority innovation projects within the Open Experience (OX) team, working across our brands and with global brand partners to drive the creative vision of brand new and exciting products and services.

Additionally, you’ll be:

  • Working on the highest priority innovation projects, including those governed under the Innovation & Partnerships forum, and other franchise forums
  • Build and maintain OX design capability, including creative visioning, insight development, and design of innovation projects
  • Support the execution of sponsored innovation projects providing creative direction, problem solving, and ensuring a consistent high level of output
  • Support the design research, including ethnographic and user research for actionable customer insights for innovation projects
  • Foster and promote user centric design culture in OX, innovation and solutions and business wide
  • Develop and own the OX toolkit for innovation projects
  • Develop tools and processes to encourage human centred design in all that we deliver
  • Proactively build internal and external relationships, working in partnership to solve future challenges
  • Build a virtual pool of creative resource and partnerships, representing top talent, to act as partners and collaborators on innovation projects
  • Provide stakeholder management of innovation projects, team members and innovation stakeholders
  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting OX and the benefits of human centred design across the business

The skills you'll need

To be successful in this role, you’ll be qualified to degree level in design/innovation or have the equivalent in experience. You'll have expertise and fluency across design thinking and human centred design methods. We’ll expect you to have a good understanding of innovation processes within large organisations, and experience of developing highly innovative work and managing multiple projects at once. And, you’ll also have excellent collaboration and communication skills.
