Insurance and Accountancy Officer

Scale 4, £26,873 - £30,296 per annum

37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Finance Team as a Insurance and Accountancy Officer. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our established hardworking Team. You will be providing effective financial support for the delivery of high quality, cost effective and customer focussed services.

Some of the key tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the Council’s insurance policies, and premiums. This includes receiving and actioning incident and insurance claims in a timely manner, providing advice and support to colleagues across the Council.
  • responding to claimant’s enquires regarding progress of claims, liaising with and referring to insurers and their representatives
  • providing policy renewal or tendering information in accordance with advised timescale, reviewing levels of cover, self- insurance, excesses and claims to contribute to the formulation of the revised Insurance arrangements
  • Along with team members, you will also be responsible for monitoring revenue budgets, identifying and addressing any areas of concern with the appropriate budget holder.

You must be a dedicated, meticulous person who is a proven team player and possess excellent communication and customer service skills. You must be competent in Microsoft Office systems, particularly outlook, word and excel.
