About the Role
Monarch Education are recruiting Supply IT Teachers for schools across Bristol, with opportunities available throughout the first term and the possibility of longer-term placements depending on school requirements. This role is ideal for teachers who are confident delivering IT, Computing, or Digital Skills lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and who can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff in different school settings.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, maintaining strong classroom management, supporting pupil progress, and ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absence or planned cover. Work may be available on a day-to-day, short-term, or longer-term basis depending on your availability and school needs.
Key Duties
* Deliver IT, Computing, and Digital Skills lessons across secondary year groups
* Follow lesson plans and schemes of work provided by the school
* Create a positive, focused, and inclusive learning environment
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of different learners
* Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and progress in IT and Computing
* Work collaboratively with department staff, cover teams, and senior leaders
* Provide feedback to teaching staff where required
* Maintain professional standards and follow safeguarding procedures at all times
Skills & Personal Qualities
* Strong subject knowledge in IT, Computing, or related digital subjects
* Confident classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills
* Flexible and adaptable approach to working across different schools
* Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills
* Reliable, professional, and organised
* Ability to engage and motivate pupils of varying abilities
* Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider school community
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Experience & Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status, or relevant teaching experience in secondary education
* Experience teaching IT, Computing, ICT, Digital Skills, or a related subject
* Strong classroom management and the ability to deliver pre-planned lessons confidently
* Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
* Right to work in the UK
* Willingness to complete all relevant registration, compliance, and safeguarding checks
