Lead Officer – School Improvement

Job Description

We are looking to appoint a highly driven, talented and experienced individual to lead on the Council’s strategic school improvement agenda who will contribute extensively to the delivery of our Vision for Education, based on a school-led self-improving system.   

The school improvement professional that we are looking for will lead on school improvement performance management within the Education Directorate, highlighting strengths/areas for development and implementing plans to improve school and local authority outcomes across the County Borough. 

The successful candidate will require a strong track record in delivering improved learner achievement, be able to facilitate school to school collaboration, have an up-to-date knowledge of legislation and have the ability to influence educational professionals at both a strategic and operational level. 

Qualifications essential for the position are:- 

  • Qualified Teacher status

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area

  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development

  • Senior Leadership/Management experience

The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
