Licensed Day Care Supervisor

Reporting to the Day Care Supervisor, you will: 

  • Supervise day care staff and volunteers, ensuring that services are delivered according to the standards, policies, and procedures of the MFRC and the Province of AB
  • Implement and maintain the MFRC’s philosophy that “children learn through play” 
  • Work in a front-line capacity, directly with children, in delivery of day care sessions Promote positive skill development opportunities and makes necessary changes to day-to-day activities as required, identifying specific needs of participants and develop high quality, age-appropriate activities to address needs
  • Act as a liaison between parents and Program Coordinator, relaying informing regarding attendance, concerns and issues 
  • Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure inventory of program supplies and resources are monitored and recorded
  • Participate in promotion and fundraising activities as requested
  • Ensure that program space is pleasant, safe, clean, and conducive to learning 
  • Interact professionally with children, parents, and staff
  • Attend and participate effectively in Staff Meetings

 What you have to offer: 

  • Preference given to those with ‘Child Development Supervisor Certificate’ (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of ‘Child Development Assistant Certificate’ (or equivalent)
  • Supervisory experience and experience working with children preferred
  • Outgoing, personable, energetic and highly organized
  • Effective communication skills and strong team building abilities
  • Able to lift 25lbs
  • First Aid required (will provide training)
