Manoeuvring Area Safety Officer

Hawarden Airport, CH4 0DR

Full time, 40 hours (Shift work)



As part of our longstanding partnership with Airbus at Hawarden Airport the Manoeuvring Area Safety Unit ensures safe ground operations in support of the delivery of wings as a key component in the production of the Airbus fleet. We are now recruiting for a Manoeuvring Area Safety Officer to join our small and highly motivated team, which provides a flexible and high-quality service. 

As the Manoeuvring Area Safety Officer, you will be required to complete surface inspections, friction testing, work in progress supervision, escort duties, airside permits, habitat management functions, and other aerodrome operations functions as required by the aerodrome management team, in accordance with the EASA 139/2014 aerodrome certification, regulatory and local procedures.  Other duties include supporting the booking and delivery of airside driving courses.


The successful post holder must establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments within the airport, including but not limited to the airport management team (the customer) and/or customer representative; with external agencies; and with other relevant stakeholders.


What you need to do the job


To be considered for this opportunity you must have the following:

  • Minimum ICAO Level 4 English language.
  • Full current driving licence.
  • If successful you must be able to obtain a Shotgun licence.
  • Proficiency in the use of radio telephony equipment.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Be competent using IT.
