Marine Mechanical Engineering Trainer

About the role


Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Marine Mechanical Engineering Trainer to be responsible for delivering classroom training to new Engineers joining the Royal Navy, this will include practical and theory sessions to a class of 8 (normally circa 20 students but reduced due COVID). This will involve an overview and introduction to the topic.

Main responsibilities include:

* To instruct within the Engine Workshop, theoretical and practical technical training on Mechanical engineering techniques, complex systems routines, maintenance, diagnostics and repair techniques to the equipment and systems of RN warships and other Navies vessels in accordance with the Training Plan and Sultan TSOP procedures.
* To assist in maintaining and updating training documentation.
* To assess student course work and provide feedback on performance
* To carry out the level 0 and level 1 training equipment maintenance for which suitable qualifications and experience are held.


This is an excellent position with a good work / life balance, and a great opportunity to complete a Level 4 Teaching qualification.


What do I need to do the role?


You must hold a minimum Level 3 NVQ/C&G in a related Engineering discipline.


You will come from a mechanical background with specific engine knowledge, this could be from marine, aerospace, vehicles, air conditioning, or gas turbines.


You will also be confident in delivering training to a class of students.
