Job Description

 

 

Business Wales provides a first class business support service to Welsh SMEs on behalf of the Welsh Government, funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Since January 2016 this service has been delivered by Growth Partnership Wales (GPW) a partnership of Business in Focus, Antur Cymru and Serco. Superfast Business Wales is digital service element of Business Wales, commenced in January 2016, it will support businesses across Wales understand, adopt, and exploit the benefits of Superfast Broadband.

 

We are now recruiting a Marketing and Communications Assistant to deliver and co-ordinate a communications plan for the Superfast Business Wales Programme and provide marketing communications and promotion for the project. This will involve liaising with delivery partners, funders and third party suppliers in Wales. Other key duties include:

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to deliver the communications strategy for the programme
  • Work at equivalent and agreed levels across the Core service team and Business Wales enquiry team to ensure effective integration and service delivery, supporting the development of regional operational delivery plans
  • Deliver direct marketing to promote the service to include creation of promotional materials, web copy, social media updates, email alerts, partner communications, direct mailings, case studies and work with a PR agency as required
  • Manage and upkeep internal systems including MI reporting, data management and contact lists
  • Ensure that appropriate mandatory  branding requirements are adhered to on all promotional materials and that this is co-ordinated with external stakeholders, funders and the SFBB Programme Manager

 

What you'll need to do the role:

  • A degree or equivalent level qualification in marketing, communications or related subject would be preferable
  • An ability to deliver and experience in direct marketing activity including; copy writing, branding, advertising, promotion, direct mail, PR, communications, digital marketing, social media, and e-marketing techniques
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels (written and verbal) both internally and externally
  • Computer literate with proven organisational skills and Microsoft Office suite. Experience of using content management systems, e-marketing and social media platforms and tools.
  • Understanding of maintaining data management systems and acceptable use of marketing data
  • An understanding of Superfast Broadband technology and its business applications
  • The ability to communicate fluently in Welsh and English would be an advantage in this role. Brief telephone interviews may take place before formal interview.
