Salary: £26,120 - £34,500 depending on skills and experience + standby
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours
About the Department
Our SSEN Distribution Operations teams are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.
What is the Role?
As Mechanical Craftsperson, you will maintain Diesel engines and auxiliary plant, tanks, pipework and equipment under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Manager ensuring safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment in accordance with company safety standards, relevant company procedures and local arrangements to deliver a continuous supply to the Shetland Electricity Grid.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of Diesel generating sets and auxiliary plant and a good understanding of the site environmental limits. To be able to work as part of a Team or on your own. An ability to carry out fault finding and to be able to recognise plant and system issues is key. You'll have an understanding of SSE's company Safety and Environmental targets and an ability to work within the safety rules.
