Reporting into the Senior Data Architecture Solution and Design Manager, this is a role for someone that loves understanding data, business processes and systems. This role will be pivotal in helping with refining the overall governance activities of the Data Architecture and Metadata team and setting the prioritisation and allocation of work generated from data initiatives through customer engagement.

The candidate will additionally help to directly manage a new team that will define and implement a trusted source framework for Santander UK.

The role is both a business-facing and technical team engaging resource, aiming to deliver the key team priorities and deliverables. It is expected that the successful candidate will work closely with the metadata team and act as a subject matter expert during customer engagement and will work with Data Centre of Excellence to help maintain and enrich the metadata standards and operating procedures that we have, determining the standards required to achieve regulatory compliance and supporting the data domains to deliver real business value.

  • Supporting the Senior Data Architecture Solution and Design Manager in defining the framework to identify and document the trusted sources of key and critical data elements for the bank's domains.

  • Supporting the Senior Data Architecture Solution and Design Manager with defining and maintaining team governance activities, including customer engagement and preparation for Data Design Authority meetings.

  • Maintaining and updating of the metadata standards and all associated documentation to be compliant with required policies and procedures

  • Supporting the design and implementation of trusted source framework.

  • Managing relationships with key Data Domain stakeholders, technical SMEs, Data Services and Platform Services teams.

  • Co-ordinating and managing a pipeline of activity to support multiple domains to achieve the required level of governance and supporting the implementation and adoption of data management tooling

What you'll bring.

  • Strong Understanding of Metadata (Business, Technical and Operational).

  • Experience in defining and implementing data management standards and/or frameworks.

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Excellent communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior leaders.

  • Experience of Informatica Data Management tools, particularly Axon and EDC.

  • Experience in Trusted Source Definition and Management.

  • Ideally should have worked on at least one project / used one tool dedicated to metadata collection, ingestion, analysis or distribution.

What else you need to know.

We will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.

This role is currently home based with an expectation to travel very occasionally into the Milton Keynes office when required. This is a permanent position.
