The Programme Manager will sit within the Proposal Development Centre (PDC),  a high performing specialist unit, focused on the creation and production of sales documents across Compass UK&I. The team work nationally, managing high value bids, proposals and presentations across multiple sectors.  The Programme Manager will report into the Net Growth Operations Director and support in the overall management of the PDC business unit.

You will be highly organised, enjoy working at pace, have a pragmatic approach to problem solving and have strong relationship building and communication skills.  The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, deadline-oriented, fast learner, who is an organized, dedicated, flexible, hands-on team player with excellent problem-solving skills.  A roll-up-the-sleeves approach is required and they must be comfortable in an dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The role of the Programme Manager is threefold: 

  1. You will play a key role in the financial management of the PDC managing the outsourced creative spend analysing financial performance and using influencing skills to provide recommendations in driving value for money.
  2. You will be experienced in project management where you will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of PDC projects.  Owning plans, delivery against timelines and management of project risk.
  3. You will have strong knowledge of IT systems and support the PDC with software and hardware requirements alongside supporting any technical developments and enhancements for the future.

Financial and Reporting Performance

The Programme Manager will be required to support the effective operation of the financial performance of PDC across external supply chain, internal cross charges and  budget control. They will be required to deliver best in class analysis, reporting and insights by:

  • Processing of all PDC invoicing seeking approval of Net Growth Ops Director as appropriate
  • Developing and capturing sector segmented category invoicing for all Net Growth activity flowing through PDC centralised budget across creative outsource agencies.
  • Liaising with suppliers to enforce standardised Invoicing and generate P/O numbers as required
  • Fill rechargeable gaps in cost centres for monthly overview
  • Update & maintain monthly internal chargeable tracker monitoring performance vs budget and month by month progress.  Trended analysis a requirement to prior years
  • Supporting, developing and owning defined elements of monthly PDC reporting inclusive of cost of sale/resourcing for MI
  • Produce weekly PDC Utilisation report using a combination of Excel/Power BI.  They will be expected to develop, improve and enhance the report as required
  • Running ad-hoc analysis on resourcing/PDC workload as required

Projects

  • Provision of project management support for all PDC projects to the Net Growth Operations Director.  They will be responsible for owning the project plan, setting tasks, liasing with relevant internal and external stakeholders and managing all risks to ensure no suprises .
  • They will own a detailed project plan with clear timelines and milestones, managing dependencies both inside and outside the project, providing updates and reporting regularly on progress. They will monitor progress against the programme outcomes and continually reassessing the plan to ensure these will be achieved.

Systems Management

  • To build and maintain a good working relationship with the Compass IT team and our external IT partners to ensure PDC requirements are fully embedded in the overall Compass IT strategy
  • Support escalation for PDC IT issue resolution as required, supported by a knowledge of internal IT systems used.
Who you are:
  • Strong analytics skills (Microsoft Excel), and experience of preparing analysis, insight and turning into recommendations using Power BI
  • Knowledge of the following platforms would be beneficial - Filemaker, Office 365, Power BI
  • Corporate accounting experience, with a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to perform data analysis, create pivot analyses and develop data models, excellent organisation skills with attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of Programme and project management methodologies (Waterfall and Agile), Prince 2 or similar accreditation desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of IT systems, in particular MacBook Pros and associated operating systems.
  • An ability to demonstrate experience within a finance role for a large, complex organization.
