Job Description

You will report into our Head if Finance and as our Payroll Officer will provide an efficient payroll service ensuring the accurate and timely payment of our workforce.

You will maintain an accurate record of employee hours and salaries/hourly rates. As a Payroll Officer you will work with multiple departments to ensure that salaries/hourly rates are transparent, employees receive their pay on time and that they all have a thorough understanding of their pay/wage slips.

More about the role:
  • You will own and complete the daily, weekly, and monthly payroll process ensuring it is accurately entered onto the payroll system
  • Process wage queries and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
  • Cross check the payroll data before submission checking for discrepancies
  • Transfer of variable payroll on a weekly basis in accordance with payroll deadlines
  • Completion of agency timesheets and deal with any invoice queries
  • Completion of all purchase orders for agencies, invoice manager and chefs
  • Ensure all holiday pay is processed correctly and on time
  • Manage statutory pay including SSP, SMP and SSP etc.
  • Ensure all leavers are exited correctly
  • Accurate reporting of weekly payroll figures to the Finance Department
  • Creation and completion of weekly forecasting planner communicating any variances to Finance Department and Operations Team
  • Liaising with the People Team ensuring the set-up and management of staff scheduling system
Who you are:
  • Proven payroll administration experience and knowledge of HMRC regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Pro-active approach
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Able to work in an organised manner to meet important deadlines
  • Confident in Microsoft Office with a sound knowledge of Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with an ability to effectively plan and organise own work
